Introduction to Stone Lithography (11/1, 11/2, 11/3)

This 3 day course is an introduction to traditional stone lithography.

Students will develop basic skills in the medium by graining their own litho stone, drawing, etching, and printing an original edition from the stone. Depending on class interest, we may explore some advanced techniques. General printmaking experience can be helpful, but is not necessary.

Wendell Jeffrey has an MAT in Art Ed from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Currently a teacher at Ridge High, Basking Ridge, NJ and previously at the Teachers College, Columbia University, NYC, Wendell has completed numerous residencies, including Vermont Studio Center, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and most recently the Space and Time Artist Residency here at Guttenberg Arts.
