We are very excited to announce this year's Braddock Park Art Festival hosted on Sunday June 12th from 10am - 6pm.

We have a wide range of activities for the entire community to enjoy.  You will take part in Artist Demos and Community Projects lead by Guttenberg Arts residents and staff, and find Artist Installations brought on location by select established artists from our network. Our Lakeside Artist Market will consist of local artists and galleries. Food Trucks selected from the surrounding area will be located along Riverside Drive.

ATTENDEE INFORMATION

The Braddock Park Art Festival is free to attend. Hours are 11am-7pm. Braddock Park is located between Bergenline Avenue and JF Kennedy Blvd East in North Bergen NJ. The festival will be centered around the Interpretive Center (Lake House).  You can find directions to the Festival here.  Visitors are encouraged to bring their friends and family.  This year's festival will include:

STEAMROLLER PRINTMAKING

Steamroller Woodcuts -  The team will be inking and printing giant woodcuts by Justin Sanz, Martin Mazorra of Cannonball Press, Rob Swainston and other established artists artists. The prints will be hung around the park for display.

Steamroller Monoprint Jam -  Established artists will collaborate on creating 8 x 5 foot monoprints throughout the day and inspire the attendees to make some of their own at the demonstration booths and community project stations

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Community Mural - This project (set next to Graffiti Alley) is intended to bring the local community together.  Anyone interested in picking up a piece of chalk can add on to 8’x8’ community mural.

50x4’ Steamroller Monoprint with Stephen McKenzie and Rainbow Squadron - Alongside our staff, the Guinness World Records breaking artist Stephen McKenzie will be preparing a 50’x4’ monoprint with the assistance of the festival goers. People of all ages are welcome to come help Stephen illuminate a giant sheet of plastic that is printed with a roll of nylon paper and steamroller as the crescendo for the day’s events.

We would like to thank the sponsors of the 2nd Annual Braddock Park Arts Festival for their generous contributions towards making the June 12th event such a great success. PSEG, the J. Fletcher Creamer Foundation, Carepoint Health, Valley National Bank, Lime Taxi, GPs Restaurant, and UFC gym demonstrated they recognize the important role design and visual arts can play in the lives of Hudson County residents. Similarly, material and in-kind donations from Atlantic Papers, Speedball Art Products, Awagami Factory, Akua Inks, Ceramic Supply Inc., The Compleat Sculptor, HCB Distribution and Remco Press were invaluable to this event overall. The impact of their support will be felt long term.

Now in its second year, the Braddock Park Arts Festival attracted more than four thousand people throughout the day with double the number of attendees since last year. We are proud of the partnership formed with Guttenberg Arts, the the County Executive’s Office, the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Hudson County Division of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development and our sponsors on the 2nd AnnualBraddock Park Arts Festival and hope it will continue for years to come.
